Don Alberto started his restaurant business in his own back yard. Sunday afternoons, he would cook a variety of traditional Mexican food and would sell to family and friends. During the week, he would stock up a shopping cart with homemade tamales, gorditas, and chorizo and would head out to nearby neighborhoods where people waited for his food, his stories and contagious laughter.
