Panta Rei’s kitchen produces a host of dishes whose roots hail directly from central Italy’s famed Lazio region and are created with a distinct emphasis on freshness, as evidenced by their made-to-order pasta and daily changing menu items.

The Peddler has strived since 1969 to serve only the finest seafood and aged beef available in a warm friendly atmosphere. Steaks are cut at your table by request and cooked over live charcoal. Prime rib, grilled chicken and seafood specialties are avialable. Banquet facilities up to 60 people are available (private parties call ahead). Our Ali Baba is called by Pittsburgh magazine, “the best Middle Eastern Restaurant in Pittsburgh”. In 1972, three struggling, native Syrian graduate students opened the doors to a modest ethnic restaurant. Because of their perseverance and dedication to satisfying customers, Ali Baba prospered. In 1973 staff was added which included tow chefs who continue to prepare authentic dishes in our kitchen today. Extensive remodeling took place in 1975 and 1982, which changed Ali Baba’s décor into what is seen presently.

We spend hours prepping our food just for you. From homemade sauces & dressings to our made from scratch pot pies and chili, we pride ourselve on good home cooking! We pride ourselves on using many local vendors for our food, McGonigle's beef, Fritz's Pork Tenderloins and more. Our prep cooks take pride in cutting fresh vegetables daily to create our homemade salsa, stir fried vegetables, deep fried zucchini and garden salads to name a few. Many of our dressings are made from scratch as well.
